National Animal Welfare Bill 2005

Click here to see our brief submission on the private members bill introduced by Senator Andrew Bartlett of the Democrats.

It should not get to first base in my view however it is before the Senate Committee and is still a ‘live’ bill. It should also get soundly defeated as the Liberals, Nationals and Labor should not support it. Below is the specific part of the bill that concerns us most. We will be contacting Senators over this to voice our concerns.

If you want to read more about it follow the link below and you will see some of the groups who support the bill & others opposed to it. Once you have read our submission you might want to let Senator Bartlett senator.bartlett@democrats.org.au and the Democrats know how you feel about this bill. Check out section 62 (f) and 87 as they will shed more light on how ridiculous this private members bill is.
